Welcome to Peshtigo, situated on the nearby Peshtigo River.

Peshtigo is known for being the site of the Peshtigo fire of 1871, in which more than 1,200 people died. Because it started the same day as the well known Great Chicago fire, many have never heard of it and thus became known as the "Forgotten Fire", despite causing far more fatalities and destruction.

Things to do include visiting the Peshtigo Fire Museum or dining at the Forgotten Fire Winery. Nearby Badger Park offers disc golf, swimming and camping in the summer in addition to a large playground.

The Peshtigo River offers opportunities for boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and even white water rafting.
